There is no live chat, no ticket portal and no phone number. For a product this small, an inbox a human reads is better than a system that routes you around one.
Common requests
A domain is blocked that should not be
Suggest unblocking it here, or send us the domain and a sentence about why. We review these one at a time, by hand, and if we agree it is removed from the list for everyone: ViceFree on your PC stops blocking it within minutes, and the browser extension with its next release. You cannot unblock a site yourself, because that would be the obvious way around all of this.
Health, recovery and education sites are on a never block list already (48 of them), which no blocklist entry can override. So are the Wifi login pages of hotels, cafes, airports and planes. If one of those is being blocked, that is a bug and we want to hear about it quickly.
A site is missed
Send us the domain. ViceFree checks every site you open against a list of more than 800,000 adult sites, and the 125 biggest are also blocked in your PC’s core files. No list catches everything. Misses we confirm go onto the list in a later update.
Something is broken
Include your Windows version, what you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead.
There is no telemetry and no record of your machine that we can look up. If the installer failed, it sent us a short report with personal details removed. In the control center you can press Send diagnostics, check exactly what it sends, and quote the reference code it gives you. Otherwise your description is genuinely all we have.
The installer will not run
Almost always SmartScreen or Microsoft Defender, because the installer is not code signed yet. Choose More info, then Run anyway, then Yes at the Windows permission prompt. If Defender moved the file to quarantine, open Windows Security, go to Protection history and restore it.
A refund
Email us from the address you bought with. 14 days, in full, no questions. The policy is here. A refund ends your subscription, so the lock comes off right away, or 24 hours later if you chose to keep it.
Nobody has been charged yet, because payments are not open.
Waitlist questions
ViceFree is in early access, so there is no public download, and ViceFree Lock is not on sale because payments are not open yet. If you joined the waitlist you will get one email when your build is ready. We hold your address, the tier you asked for and a timestamp, and nothing else. Ask and we delete it.
Something is wrong with the 24 hour gate
Write to us and we will look at what is happening. We cannot override the gate, and we are not going to pretend we can.
What we cannot do
- We cannot look up what you were doing. We cannot see your screen and we cannot see your traffic. There is no record on our side to search, which is the entire point of the product.
- We cannot shorten a 24 hour wait. There is no override and no emergency unlock.
- We cannot remove the software for you. Removal happens on your machine, through the same gate as everything else.
